Angel Beswick-Reid
I’m Angel and I’m so glad you found me. Hugs Mama, HUGS.
I’m a mom of two boys (hey Caleb and Aiden!), a wife (love you CJ!) and a dog mom to a furry and very often muddy trio. I’m a stay-at-home mom now, but before this I navigated life as an attorney, which is a world of structure and organization. By the time we had our first son, Caleb, I thought I was checking all the boxes I was supposed to – marriage, motherhood, white collar professional – yet there was an increasing sense that I wasn’t doing my life right. I wanted to be everything for everyone. I was always playing catch up, always feeling Mom Guilt, always operating from a place of anxiety. Everyday felt like I was waking up and immediately throwing thirty balls into the air, trying desperately to catch them as they rained down on me and beating myself up when I didn’t get them. I became irritable, deeply anxious, overwhelmed and burnt out.
I ping ponged from one responsibility to the next. Weeks blurred into months into years and I continued the same way, weary and overwhelmed, always carrying the nagging feeling that as busy as I was and as tired as I felt, I wasn’t really getting anything done.
I wasn’t the best version of myself for me, or for my family. And I knew why. At the heart of my exhaustion was a failure to prioritize myself.
I realized that for anything to change, I needed to value my most important currency, the one that I had been spending without thought, giving away without consideration to myself, and something that I could never get back once it was gone -- my time.
So What Happened Next?
Helping moms become more empowered by reclaiming their most valuable asset – their time – became my obsession. I knew that getting a handle on how a mom manages her time would lead to her addressing her own goals and needs, and give her a sense of structure to her responsibilities as a mom. Having already become a certified life coach, I combined it with my natural ability to organize and create structure. Why? Because I live it. I know:
-
the pressure we moms put on ourselves
-
the heavy expectations placed on us
-
that more times than not we’re the default parent
-
the mental load of motherhood
-
the constant comparison to other moms
-
what burnout feels like.
That’s how The Balanced Mom Way was born. It's a system I’ve created to help busy, overwhelmed moms like you strike a balance in your life by reclaiming your time in a healthy way, a way that’s realistic and prioritizes your needs alongside your family's. It's not about striving for some impossible ideal of perfection, and it’s for damn sure not about burn out. It's about implementing healthy routines and doable systems that you can easily repeat, adding structure to your days and utilizing your time in a way that honors your needs as a mom, spouse and woman.
